On my Windows box (yes, I am East of the Paradise, for a while :-) and using Acrobat Reader 4.0, there are no problems with text (File/Info/Fonts shows that, they are Type1 Helevetica and Times-Roman), but the pictures are exceedinlgy ugly (smeared and reddish). Same with GhostScript (GSView 3.

xfig patterns and pdf

I draw pictures with xfig and export them as eps files. To use them with pdflatex, i convert them to pdf with epstopdf. The resulting pdf file, however, has problems whenever i have used a patterned fill in xfig. - The pattern doesn't appear at all with xpdf - The pattern appears in acroread, but
