Of course such long URLs are undesirable in general and that's why they
invented tinyurl:
http://tinyurl.com/
Copy and paste your long URL there, and they will generate a shorter
(tiny) one for you.

link because this will be going to print. Without the entire URL, there
is no way a reader will know where to go.
