I thought I'd upgrade to the most recent version of LyX (from 1.3.3) on
my iBook running 10.3.9. I downloaded the binary, dragged the LyX icon
to my Applications folder and then double clicked the LyX Installer
icon whereupon I received the message: The operation could not be

and then tell LyX it was an equation (I used the insert button) and low
and behold I had an equation that I hadn't had to retype.

with the spacing by hand for each pair since they
aren't the same size and at a page break the graphic ends up before the
break and the equation after the break. I can't avoid a page break as
the list of pairs is more than a page long.
Any suggestions.
I'm using article class.

I have just, rather excitedly, followed Ron's instructions for
installing Aqua Lyx. To my disappointment, double clicking on the Lyx
icon immediately results in an unexpected quit error message. I'm
basically a rooking linux user and have done almost nothing with using
the unix side of OSX.
