Okay, it's working. I put LyX in the Applications folder and then
restarted my computer, thinking that maybe that would rewrite some sort of
registry thingy (or however it is that Macs keep track of their folders.)
I ran the debugger which told me there was something wrong with the pipe.

Ugh, I can't believe I forgot that. Yeah, my LyX is 1.6.7
and my Skim is 1.3.8 (56) (apparently).
I _think_ those are up to date.

Thanks for the great instructions.
I put LyX in my TeX folder, but I customized the path in Skim
preferences, so that's probably not the problem. (Just in case, I tried
putting LyX back into /Applications, but that didn't seem to do anything.
Okay, I ran the debugging program, and when I hit the

run "lyx -dbg action" in terminal, lyx window will be launched and on that
terminal you will see the debug messages.
in the "correct" case, if you do the reverse s

Thanks for the help, but I'm not quite sure how to even check that. Do I
have to run lyx -dbg in the terminal? I tried that, but then I wasn't sure
where to look for error messages. Am I supposed to open both terminal and
console? I tried that, but I wasn't sure

Thanks for the quick reply.
Unfortunately, no, that doesn't seem to help. My LyX file is in a

help. Nor did customizing the path (I didn't do these two things
simultaneously :) ).
I wonder if my pdfsync package could be out of d

Hello all,
I'm on a Mac. I'm trying to edit a lengthy thesis and I can't for the
life of me figure out how to get LyX to sync with Skim. That is, I
want to be able to view a pdf or dvi in Skim, and then
command-shift-click and be taken to the corresponding part of my LyX
file. Doesn't work. I'
