I would like to know if it is possible to create a document wich has 2
columns of different width, for exemple a wide column at the right side
of the page, approx 13 cm wide, and a smaller one of 4 cm at the left
side. The main text would be in the main column, and the left column
would be used

I require 1.3cm spacing between two columns for my
article. Can't find it anyway under layout. Secondly, my
articles Title, Author, Address need to crossover two columns at the first page.

you need latex-package multicol, it's often part of the install
Thanks Herbert, I managed to do as you mentioned. But my two eps files
insert through Insert/Floats/Figure Float not display on dvi but if I change
it to Wide Figure Float it will display nicely but figure will across two
columns. Any suggestion are appreciated.

one can also use the dcolumn package to have decimal alignment in tables.
