ITunes doesn't manage updates to mac based apps, that's the job of the app
store. I have gotten this before, not sure what I did to solve it though

My guess is they installed OSX from scratch, and by default it hides hard
discs. Open your finder preferences and check to see if hard discs are
checked to be shown I believe when you first open that pane. That should
solve the issue for you.

First, how much data do you have on your phone in email and texts? the more
stuff you have the slower it could be with trying to sort through all the
data. I ask this as my IPhone 4 is running IOS 5 and isn't sluggish what so

I used to have that problem but as of IOS 5 if I take my phone away from my
face it goes to speaker and I have no trouble hearing voiceover. This comes
from a hearing impaired person, so maybe your phone isn't switching as it
should.

I personally wouldn't use time machine as it can only be reverted back by
time machine itself. I'd look in to carbon copy cloner or something similar
that does a full drive image that way you can boot to the USB drive if you
have too to restore your mac.
