I was on the Apple and working with a folder across the network on my PC. I
accidentally deleted a portion of the folder before i could stop the process.
Does anyone know if there is any way possible I can recover that data?I haven't
done anything else to the hard drive since the deletion.

Hi all
A while ago, somebody on list made an enquiry regarding a data recovery
solution. As it happens, I have just found myself in a situation where I was
in need of just such a utility. So my first port of call was the Apple App
Store and, to my very great surprise, I came across a little
Hi Christine,
I'm not an expert on Networking, it's something i need to get a handle on, but
have you checked the Trash on both machines. I could be wrong, but I think
Networks on OS X act like bootable volumes, therefore, any files that are
"deleted" should be safe until the Trash is empty.

Super Duper! is not at all the same. Super Duper! is a volume backup/restore
utility, not a data recovery utility. For the record, yes, we at Mac Access
Dot Net are registered license holders of Super Duper! and also Carbon Copy
Cloner. Lynne actually wrote a very good article

Hi Chris
No need to feel dumb or anything like it, it was an innocent mistake which
anybody could have made. In all probability I didn't explain well enough in
the first instance, hence the error.
But yes, you are quite correct in your assertion of Super Duper! as an almost
"must-have" utilit

CCC is no longer freeware, it's shareware nowadays. CCC has a few more
advanced options and the interface is quite different.

Yes. However, I have had a chat with the developer and only certain file types
can be recovered. He says that's how data recovery systems work these days,
although I find that somewhat difficult to believe so I am taking it with a
grain of salt. OK, maybe a couple of grains of salt. :)
How much is Disk Warrior?

It's not cheap. I can't remember off hand because it was a while ago when I
bought it. But I will check. Yes, I bought it back in 2009 but I don't have a
record of the price.

Hi Kristeen,
Disk Warrior is $99.95:

You'd have to run this from a bootable cloned drive, I think, in order to have
VoiceOver working, because the repair operations can't be run from the same
drive that you're hoping to recover. That's how we used this in the
Hi Krinstine and all
It's important also to understand the difference between Data Recovery Guru and
DiskWarrior. DiskWarrior is a different animal to Data Recovery Guru.
DiskWarrior recovers files by looking at the directory structure and recovering

Do you actually mean for recovering deleted files, damaged hardware or
corrupted directory structures? Disk Worrier is designed for the latter of
those.
