Hi,
changing the keyboard layout is much too much trouble for something so easy on

Hello Brian,
First, let me say that the native Apple mail application works just fine with
gMail in both Yosemite and in the soon-to-be-released El Capitan operating
system.
Second, the reason your gMail account reached its storage limit is because of
the way Google handles message tagging.
So I use Skype with Soundflower to pipe through the audio on the
receiving end.
I use Apple Script to change the audio output/input when a remote
machine is connected.
Only downside is that there's no stereo sound.
Also, the Mac you want to control must not be behind a VPN, which really
sucks. But

The only commands I can think of are all on the Numpad Commander, which is
entirely optional. What sorts of things are you trying to do? Chances are,
there's an equivalent on the standard keyboard or (if you have one) trackpad.

It's easy to forget a bunch of the finder Jump to commands. If you
move to the menubar (VO-M) and arrow right to the Go menu you'll find a
whole pile of them. Command-Option-A for the applications folder and
command-option-u for the utilities folder are ones I use all the time.
