While I haven't downloaded Yosemite myself yet, in the past I sometimes
got stuck on a slow server or something such that it crawled along. The
fix was to just cancel the download and try again. Usually I ended up on
a faster server and was able to get faster throughput.

there were a number of bug fixes listed including the following:
Fixes an issue that prevented Guided Access from working properly
Fixes a bug where VoiceOver would not work with 3rd party keyboards
