Hi , You can also keep the old Apple ID but change the primary email associated with it. This is what I have done. I've kept my old Apple ID but changed the email address. A bit less hassle to change an Apple ID on all devices, and the emails still come through to your new active email address.

Changing email addresses for your different services depends on the service. Setting up iCloud on new Apple devices is as simple as signing into iCloud, which you'd likely do anyway, and enabling Mail on that device. Just like that, all the settings are entered and your messages are downloading.
