Now that I can reliably go to the top and bottom of the message list in my
inbox, I offer the following suggestion. You must make certain you are
interacting with the messages table for this to work. If you hear something
like "sort by date", it is likely you are not interacting with the table
Hi Colin,
Okay, at least for the moment, I can go to the top and bottom of the message
list! It works under Navigation, Go to Beginning for Option 1, and Go to End
with Option 2. Thanks for working this through with me; it kept me going until
I finally nailed it.

Colin,
I have gone through all 13 categories and I can not locate the option you
reference. I will check again. Apple definitely removed the Jump option, as
it is not in the category list, I also checked with VO H-H.

Hello Lisette,
I'm a bit confused as to how you're viewing your mail.
I find Classic View to be simplest and I get rid of the preview pane. In this
way, I have the list of my mailboxes on the left and a list of messages on the
right. I press Return to open a message and VO reads it straight thr
Hi
Thanks to you for trying to help us figure this out.
When I follow the steps to set a short cut key to move to top of email list, it
still takes me to the "sort by date" button. vo down arrow takes me to the top
of the message list, even though I've set it to go to the visible end.
Could my i
Hi there!
OK When you open the menu to select which command you wish to use instead of
going to the navigation sub menu at or near the bottom should be the Jump sub
menu!
If it is not there maybe Apple have removed or renamed it!
It should also turn up if you call up VO commands with VO+H+H
hth
I am using Lion and in the Keyboard Commanders table, I do not see an option
for Jump Submenu.

Hi again!
I've checked and that is the right command to pick from the Jump sub menu!
If you wish to check it out 1st just press!
VO+shift+J and then straight away VO+shift+down arrow and you should find
yourself at the bottom of the page still in the same column as you were!
And then do the same [
Sorry this could be my fault!
Try picking the go to top most item and the bottom most item from the Jump sub
menu instead and see if that works!
Sorry about that Its been a long time since I made them!

Okay, I think I have go to visible end selected. But here is additional info.
If I go to the bottom of the message list, then Option 1 does not work. If I
go to the top of the message list, then Option 2 does not work. So I am
stumped. I'll have someone eyeball this and see what they notice
The only thing I can think of is you might have picked the wrong item in the
menu! There is the go to End and go to most visible end!
Just check which one you have!
And if you got the right option of command I do not know why it is not working
for you!

Okay, I set up the actions and for some reason, only one works. So in other
words, I interact with the Messages Table and issue the go to top of messages
list with Option-1. Then if I immediately issue the Option 2 command, I go
down the list, but don't reach the bottom. What have I missed?
Okay, great. I missed the last part, going to visible top and visible end.
Thank you.

OK Yes there is the trackpad option as well!
But if you want the Keyboard version here it is!
I'll do it as if someone needs it from the beginning!
1, Open VoO utility with VO+f8
You should be on General scroll across to the [allow voiceover to be controlled

I as well use control-option-shift home or shift-end. Since I'm on a macbook
Air, I need the function key.
After a while, I found all these buttons annoying, so i use the trackpad
commanders and set up shift-flick-down to go to top and shift-flick-up to go to
the bottom. So much easier. :)
Can you explain how you set up Right Option 1 and 2 to tho to bottom of message
table and top of message table? I went into VO Utility, Keyboard Commander,
chose Right Option 1, but could not find the appropriate action to assign that
keystroke. Thanks.

Ok well that doesn't work for me. I wonder what I've got screwy in my mailbox.
I still can't see my on my mac mailboxes. So something is very weird with mine.
How did you set up those short cuts.

Hi there!
That command works here OK! I'm using a Wireless Keyboard so need the FN key as

So I hold the FN+VO with my left hand and do Shift+left/right arrows with my

Also I've got a Keyboard shortcut to do the same thing! So all I do is press

Hi all,
Is there a way of quickly getting to top of message table in mail?
When I do vo, fn shift left arrow, I get to a button called "select by date
menu button". I'm still at the bottom of the message table. I can obviously
arrow up but that takes a while with a large mailbox.
Any suggestions?
