Hello,
This script was sent on the list, and I currently have it installed on my
system. IF someone knows a way to make a copy of the script file with
directions where to find it, I am happy to send it along.
Cheers.

Well, I'm not sure if this is a factor, but my system and default VO voice is
Alex. Perhaps the delay occurs with using the system voice and not VO?

Hey Alex and all. I actually found out as well that the right option key+T
script doesn't use the same voice as Voiceover. I found out that it uses
whatever your main system voice is using. That means if you were using Alex as
your voice for Voiceover and you were using Samantha as your system v
Hi there!
This was asked a while ago!
The conclusion is that some nice person who is good with Apple scripts might
consider making a new script to speak in 24hr otherwise you will have to find
the script that is already there and adjust it to do what you want!

Hi, Colin. Good catch, but in my case, the checkbox was checked.

Hi, I changed the system voice, but I, at least, still have the delay. This
is very interesting.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Interestingly. I have my system voice set to Fred, and I used Fred for all
other voices, so I'm not sure what would cause the delay. I just went to
check the system voice I have set, and the only thing

Hi, guys,
Hi, guys,
Yes, I use the Alex voice for everything, so I don't think that's a factor in
my case. However, the question of more responsiveness after one press is
definitely a factor. I only notice the delay the first time I press the key
combo in a long time. Subsequent presses are much more res
I would not hesitate to ask Apple for any fix you can think of, big or small.
They can prioritize things, but they will never know to fix a problem if they
don't know it exists. As to clicks, you can mute vo through the help menus

Hi. i get a delay but it's not a long one. doesn't bother me and it's handy

Alex and Teresa,
I have found this same issue, and have this theory as well. I do not often use
the keyboard commander VoiceOVer scripts for this reason, such as opt+B for

Me too. My theory is that the script to speak the information has to
be pulled from the hard drive and loaded into ram, then the voice used
has to be looked for and loaded if it is not already being used. Does
the script use a voice that vo is not using by default? If so, I have
