Hi.
When I started this thread, I wasn't thinking of the key click feature.
Actually, I would never use it. However, in order to help the accessibility
people at Apple, would it be fair to say that the key clicks you envisage would
sound like the ones that the Mac gives us when we enter
How about no sound at all. Surely you will know when your pressing the keys.
THe sound would become distracting and the entire point is silence not noise.

Actually in my case some letters don't press if I don't' press hard enough so
in my case I leave keyboard echo on so I know if I mistyped something cause I
though the letter pressed.

Perhaps so, but I would certainly hope if this were a feature, it also included
a silent option.

Oh yeah I'm sure it would. Make it a toggle and we can have the best of both

this brings an idea to mind. I used to have an atari st that had a very soft
click or chirp when keys were pressed I wonder if we could get a very very
light click sound that would sound on each keypress. to be useful ti would have
to be very quiet, preferably adjustable, or let you select
What purpose would this serve?

Hello Michael,
Although I do not know how this feature would help, who am I to say that it
wouldn't. There are a couple of things, however, that one must keep in mind.
1. There is already some feedback from keyboard entry in the form of tones.
For example when Caps Lock is activated, you
I agree. Although the chirp is a good one I too asan end user would feel
overwhelmed whenit comes to noises.

Hello everyone,
Before submitting this feature request to the accessibility team at Apple, I
was curious if (1) it is implemented already and (2) what others thought.
I work in a multilingual context daily. I am very satisfied with my
text-to-speech software, too. However, I occasionally have
Please file this as a request. I think this is a very good idea and one that
needs to be implemented. I for one would like it and I will also make the
request again. :)
Thanks,
