Problem with the Mac Mini is that they seriously undermined it when going from
quad-core to dual-core. Sure, it’s still a fabbo Mac, and I bought one to run
headless and could probably use it as a replacement for my desktop if the need
arose, and it’s still an excellent starter Mac. But it no

based on who you ask.

Your air will run windows under VM fusion. you have the I7 processor which
will help and you could assign 2GB or less to the virtual machine and it should
work fairly well. If I were to buy a new air I’d max it out not just for
windows but because once you buy it it’s a fixed configuration
;) I’m not really in the market for a new Mac laptop, but I’m following this
discussion with interest. Something y’all said that grabbed my attention, is
running windows on the Air. This surprised me. What specs on an Air would you
recommend to seamlessly run Windows?

Uh-oh! I'm soo in trouble. OK, if I end up in divorce court, it's your

Have to go check out the new models. I assumed they wouldn't be out till after

Yeah, I know what you mean. I don't know what I'd do if the Air and the Pro
were the same price (I'm going to wait till the next gen comes out, so they
probably won't be then.) I find that the Air really meets my needs just fine,
so I'm not sure I'd choose the bigger, heavier Machine.

its portability, not due to cost.

I find this interesting, I was thinking of refreshing my laptops as well and
was looking at that air. They had a pro for the same price though so I’m
having a hard time justifying the air but boy I’m with you I like the super
thin form factor. Especially with the recent refresh of the

That aside, with your requirement I’d probably go with an Apple Macbook pro and
you could go with a 13 inch model to save on

What do you like about the air over the pro??
Just wondering. I myself own a macbook air, with maxed out specs, and I love
the thing! I do miss the control key on the right, though, sometimes, but none
of the apple laptops have that, so I’ve just gotten used to not having it..

Hi!
A macbook air might be what you want.
Its not that pricey and has enough power to not drive you crazy in any case.
Get one with 8 gb ram and you’ll be fine.

Hi Cris,
the MacBook Air would be my recommendation. It's light and small, very easy to
carry around. It's plenty fast for browsing the web. I've had my Air since
2013. I may replace it this year or next, but as much as anything that's
because I like new toys. :) It is in no way obsolete.
Hello Folks,
I have never used the OSX system before. I have always been a windows user.
However, now is the time for me to buy a new laptop. I decided to give the
apple mac a try.
I do not know what apple laptop to buy. I am looking for a machine powerful
enough to keep for a number of years
