If it is a fillable document, then I would expect any application that can read PDF would work including Adobe Acrobat Reader, Microsoft WOrd, and preview. If it is one that needs you to type in markups, even then Preview on the works for sighted people, though the gold standard on the Mac side

If two apps are cutting off an area in the same manner, make sure your window is set to full view. In skim in the menu bar windows and zoom do the trick. You can set a shortcut for zoom. Btw, cmd a and then cmd c will copy all the text of a pdf file to the clipboard. It can then be pasted

Hello Christina, Here's how I set up Preview: Setting up Preview for reading: Open Preview Preferences (Command-Comma). Interact with Toolbar and select PDF. In On opening documents, check the checkbox Show sidebar only for Table of Contents, as well as the checkbox Start on the last viewed

Anne, have you tried this with any of the Take Control books? I setup preview per your instructions and still find that VO instead of starting at the top of the document, starts at the beginning of that page/section I'm reading. I still need to try this with some other PDFs, but still

Anne, Thank you, thank you, thank you. That helps a lot. Now, when I leave the pdf document and when I return I am at the top of the page that I left off on instead of the very beginning of a long document. :) The voice over cursor isn't on the line I left off on it's at the beginning

I too have frustrations with reading pdf's right now. I often have to read pdf documents. I am using preview. I get so frustrated that anytime I leave the window if I return I am back at the very beginning. G, this wastes a lot of time when I then have to find my place again
