I enable my screen curtain because A: I don't like people being able to look
over my shoulder while I'm using my computer, and B: I assume that it saves a

First, what is the command for the screen curtain on mac?
Second, how do i enable the f-keys to function the way to use the screen
curtain command. Although i don’t rememger the screen curtain command, i do

Each time you launch Voiceover, you will need to reactivate the screen curtain.
Perhaps this is a feature request for future versions of VO. Each time you
relaunch VO, it would tell you the status of the screen curtain.

The screen curtain doesn't automatically activate when yo turn vo on. You have
to turn it on manually by hitting
vo shift f 11, or, vo shift function f 11 if you have it set that way.

When you press Vo/shift f11 Vo will say "screen curtain on or off." The key
stroke toggles it on and off. Hope that helps.

Somehow I have turned on screen curtain on an iPhone 7. I have tried doing a 3
fingered quit 4 taps, but that does not seem to work. I have tried to get Siri
to turn it off but that doesn’t work either.

The screen curtain is mostly for privacy, not power saving. It just colours
the screen black. On my new MBA I have the macs colourrs reversed so when I
turn on screen curtain it makes the screen glow white. Unfortunately not really

ios 4.1 the screen curtain goes off. I am not sure, but I think I read
somewhere that apple did this on purpose to prevent someone who accidentally

you can do it on the Mac to, the command is VO, FN, shift, F11, note that the
FN key is not required if you have your function keys behaving as normal.

FYI:
Looks like Apple fixed the screen curtain in one of the more recent
Lion updates.
When I toggle the screen curtain on the screen no longer goes
completely bright. It goes dark like it is supposed to.
Keystroke Vo/shift f11.

Can I preserve battery life on my MacBook Air by lowering screen brightness and

It seems screen curtain is not working for me sometimes. VoiceOver announces

It might not be your screen curtain.
Check your screen brightness level, and see if somehow it got turned down.
