Hello all, What are the best settings for encoding video to view on Nokia 770 considering performance and quality limitations? On http://maemo.org/maemowiki/VideoEncoding suggested resolutions are 240x144, 352x208 and the others. Also there is information that the device supports hardware pixels

My preferred resolution for 4:3 content is 320x240 at 25fps 300Kbps. For general TV viewing it is very watchable. For 16:9 content I use 320x176 25fps 300kbps. For both I generally encode the audio as MP3 at 32kbps. All scaling of video is done by the DSP, and then pixel doubled by the display

I've tracked back my problem. Ubuntu is vague on whether or not a usb transfer has finished or not. I was copying the files to the disk, waiting for the progress dialog to finish, then unmounting the nokia using the gui. The disk icon would then disappear and I would unplug the device.
