Travis,
Load the MapBasic program ..\Program
Files\MapInfo\MapBasic\SAMPLES\MAPBASIC\ICONDEMO\Icondemo.mbx
You'll then be able to identify the constant from the ICONS.DEF file
for the icons you're interested in.

Okay, next problem. I've now got MapXtreme
plotting my locations on a map. Right now, it's using stars to mark the position
of these locations. Is there any way for a user to click on one of these points
display more information about that point? Or, alternatively, is there anyway to change
Hello-
Does anyone know of a program or tool that can make maps like those in
Michael Kidron's "State of the World Atlas," where countries are distorted
to represent their size in a certain category? Is this just an artist's
rendering or was some software used to produce them?
Thanks,
Derek
(I thought I had posted this but, I don't see it, so forgive me if I repeat
myself)
I Would like a tool button that toggles Move Duplicate Nodes between- in the
same layer - in none of the layers. This command is found under Options

I am inquiring if it is possible to obtain the data set that includes the
state plane coordinate system quarter section boundaries with the municipal
and county boundaries. If some one co contact me at 303 420 and

Dear Grant,
You may wish to check out EverName from EverMap, distributed by MapCentric.
EverName is a labelling optimisation tool to ensure accurate and effective
placement of text labels.
Once installed it becomes a integral part of MapInfo Professional and

Hello all,
You know when you have created a map and you have to
move about the labels so that you can see them all
clearly? You save your workspace, and all the custom
label positions have been saved. Then you have to
delete a record from the table and pack it.
The following free utilities are available for download on our site. The

I have a list of antennas with rotation angles that I want to map, and I
am trying to find a way to do it in MI 4.5. I want to plot them at a

program? 2) If
Title: label expression dropping commas
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on this one.
I am creating labels with an expression to show several fields of information. When I label with one field the numbers are shown with a comma, such as 230,000. When I create an expression
Hi All,
The pre-release version of CreateConfig is now available for download from
the directionsmag web site. This utility will take a list of cell site
lat/long/azimuth/beamwidth data and draw representative sectors. Version

Hi all...
I'm having some issues with my Altek AC30 digitzing tablet... hopefully someone
can help clear these up.
The tablet is attached to the serial port of a notebook computer running
Windows95. I've installed the proper WinTab driver and configured the WINTAB.INI

I have two region tables. I want to find out if the polygons in table A
intersect those in table B. If they do overlap then I want to select the
record with the lower value for a field that is in both tables. Is this
possible?

This is actually because MapInfo turns numbers to integers to characters
when it concatenates. This gets rid of the commas. You can use functions
to make it work though. I actually answered a version of this for one of
my training clients before. We wrote up a quick FAQ for them. While it
Thanks to James Harvie, Ole Gregor and Eric Maranne I was able to get some
sort of headway on this. I've cut and pasted most of the solutions from
emails that were sent to me.
1. When using Grid Splicer to add building footprints to a DEM you have
to be sure to use the correct splicing
Ian,
I haven't done this in MapXtreme yet, but have in MapX so I think I know how
to do it.
When the user click the map, it will call another ASP page. Take the x,y
coords of the click point and convert to Lat/Long using Map.ConvertCoordV.
Take the lat/long and do a search at that point with
I want to apologize to those who hit a wall, and to thank those who warned
me : there are problems in some of our download links, some miserable upper
case letters mixed with high class lower case ones.
It should be fixed during this coming short Canadian night.

Greetings fellow listers,
For those of you that may be interested, below is a technique that I use to
overcome overlapping labels...
Initially I had situation where I use a table of Place names daily. When
I labelled this layer, I would get a random set of places appearing each
time
Derek,
In cartographic terms I believe you are refering to Cartogram maps. As
far as I know there are no unique software solution to make these maps (If there
is I would like to know).
Chapter 10 of Cartography Thematic Map Design by Borden D. Dent
addresses this type of mapping. ISBN
