Hi Mappers,
The authority I work for are looking to purchase a large format scanner for
use with MapInfo (scanning building plans and locational plans) I have
looked through the archives of MapInfo L-List and have found two similar
requests from Brian Gallant in 1998 and Chad Landgraf in 2000 but
Hi all,
I am not sure whether it is a lack of my mapinfo knowledge, of a
question misconfiguration or ... (?)
I am trying to register raster files two different way (coordinate system).
(1) non-earth projection (national coordinate system)
everything works fine.
(2) earth projection

We're having some of the same heartache here - the only (minor) consolation
being that its pretty much the same for all software these days. The
MapBasic user guide gives you the names and normal locations of files to
support a roaming profile setup, plus MapBasic statements to find them.
Hi,
I am having a problem with using the Layout window in Mapinfo. I have a
VB Application with a map window in it and I have a Print button which
when pressed brings up a new form with the layout window in it all this
is fine. But when I close the layout window and try to use some of the
tools in
Hi,
I try to open an old workspace and I got an error message saying that I
have too many files open. I know that this is caused by too many files
open for editing. I removed all Set Map Layer X Editable lines from the
workspace but I still got the same message. Somebody know how to solve
Hi both,
I'm not sure whether I qualify as a proper grown-up system administrator ;-), but I
have some suggestions.
The user setup can be treated as all file based, even the necessary registry entries.
As Paul suggests, you can copy the user dependent
Hi Dina,
A workspace may be shared across a network without problems. But there may be problems
about the contained references. It primarily
concerns linked tables, mapped network drives, printer setup etc. There's certainly no
need for anything but MIPro itself.
If an opened table is linked,
Hi Daragh,
First your Unload Me will definitely cause your last two statements to never be
executed. You should remove it or move it below
them.
Other than that, Set Window ... Front ought to be enough to activate the proper
tools.

David,
I saw that information on the MapInfo website, but I don't have this key on
my system (MI 6.5 on Windows 2000 Pro). I only have MaxLevel (set to 200)
and MICount (set to 5).

I have a 6.0 version of MI Pro running on 98 SE.
We placed a Large High Res Sony Flat screen monitor
on the machine and whenever I reboot machine, MI Pro
or any MBX App will not run, giving me a DLL Failure. I
have narrowed it down to the Monitor refresh rate.
The New monitor reboots to 60 hz

Hi Daniel,
You can do this if you have a unique identifier in each table by using the
SQL Select function under the Query menu.
First, in the from tables box, ask for the table with the objects (ie your
polygon table) and then the text table.
Once your cursor is in the where condition box,
OK, I'm stumped...
Anyone know how to delete every third record from a table automatically?
Thanks!

Hi
You could try something like this
select * from table where rowid mod 3 = 0 into deletethese
delete from deletethese
Seems to work pretty well on the test I did. You may want to make sure your
table is packed first.
Hope this helps

Ryan,
You could perform modulo or remainder arithmetic in either SQL or your
prefered programming language. The general form would be x % 3 where x is
your row number. When the value returned from mod is 0--that's your third
row.
1 % 3
1
2 % 3
2
3 % 3
0
The MOD SQL function is rather

I too have had difficulties with the BUILDSQL tool. I have used the
following workaround to get the required query strings and connection
strings. Use File Menu Open ODBC Table... to create a TAB file that
accesses data using an ODBC link. Then open the TAB file in a text editor.

Here is a website that sells large format scanners. I've never used them, but
at one time I was looking for scanners and came across this company.
