Hello,
I saved a workspace and ten minutes later it would not open again. It gives
me the error message - 215) Invalid frame id 5.
Can anyone give me any hints on how to open this workspace.
Thanks

Hello Ryan,
Instead of labelling with a logo, why not set the point symbol itself to the
logo?
I think that more that one person has developed a tool which allows thematic
map styles to be written back to objects in a table. However, please find

Hello Bill,
I've just e-mailed a message to a poster and the -L which had an attachment.
The message included a note that people reading the message from the -L

Are there any books, web-sites or anything else explaining 'integrated

Thanks!

Please excuse me if this question is a repeat. We have clients that are
wishing to know what is the best plotter to use with MapInfo Professional.
Is there anyone out there have some strong views on this topic?

I am using the Style.ExportSymbolSample(CLIPBOARD, miFormatBMP,

Our HP Design Jet 1050C is an absolute workhorse with extremely little

From: Canfield,
Hello Mr. Vick,
This is a wonderful tool, however it seems to assume only one font. I'm
working with 38 fonts, each with 15-40 symbols. I could use this tool, but
I would have to split the table into 38 smaller tables and choose the class
for each one (something I was hoping to avoid.) Can
Hi Ryan,
No need for the Mr Vick formality here!
If I have understood your requirement, it should work and you will not need
to split your tables. For each brand, you can choose any symbol. MapInfo's
symbol picker dialog will list all symbol-based fonts on your system (which
should include your

You can assign any symbol from any symbol font that exists on your

have saved them.
Beware that there should not be any pending edits in the table that you want

Hi Warren,
Look at the following example:

Unless I'm thick-headed, it looks like I can pick the font to be used in the

Thanks for chiming in, Jacques,
If you mean manually going into the table and changing each symbol, I have
to disagree about doing that easily. Especially if I have 6,000 points that
need logos as either symbols or labels. Labels are preferred because 25% of
the points do not have logos

Hi Ross,
I have successfully translated .shp files without the .prj files. Seemed to
me if you know the projection, this can be done. All of my objects were
polygons, no points, lines, or text.

The potential for a virus is everywhere. And unless you're really good at

Hi Ryan,
Two thoughts about your issue:
1. It's possible to make a number of selections (queries), one per class, and include
these as separate layers in your mapper with
their own display and label properties. However, it's a dynamically setup, and not
statically saved in a table. It should
Hi Ryan,
Let's assume that your fonts, as detailed below, are called Brand Font 1
and Brand Font 24. First check that their (real) names are listed in the
MapInfo Symbol Picker font list. If they're not, and they're definitely
installed, then they may not be flagged as a symbol font - this is

Dear List,
My sub, below, reads through a table and plots points and a line to create a

The points plot as expected. The line plots in courser stair steps, with

than as a polyline passing through each
My personal bet is there will be a get-together once 8.0/MapX.NET is at or

Thanks to all the people who responded to my problem.
I have resolved this error. It was caused by the syntax I used to
create the objects.
The syntax I used originally was:

Varchar(20)) + ',' + Cast(NCC_N As Varchar(20)) +
