Another solution is to create a view in the database that has your coordinate
columns twice (with different names).
When you make this view mappable, MapInfo will only hide the columns used to
create the point

Listers,
I'm trying to use UT (MI Pro V8.0) to read/translate a small uStation .dgn

The translation fails, the log states :

Thanks to Ethan, Bill and Lars for getting back to me on this one.
The best way to go about this appears to be to place text objects on the layout
that start with an @ character, search for these pieces of text, and then
update the text with the values you want displayed on your layout.

Hi
What are the steps to create a seamless raster layer using 100s of
raster files?
Is there any limitation to the number of rasters which can be used in a
seamless raster file?
Thanks

Anirban,
I've created a seamless layer with around 3,000 rasters, but I don't
know the upper limit.
It's been suggested to me before that MI works best with fewer large
rasters. If you can sitch your smaller rasters into a large one, then
I'd do that.

Thank you everyone who replied. You've really helped me out. The reason
why I wanted my x and y columns back is that I'm using a MapInfo add-on pack
called Discover, and one of its functions I want to use requires access to
the x and y columns.
On an unrelated note, have many people here
I need help.
Ive tried everywhere else, can any of you guys help
me?
Is there a way of sizing symbols according to the scale of
the map, as when I zoom out, all I can see are symbols.
Please help!!!
Thanks

Hi list!
Always when there is a new upgrade,
people ask themselves if it's 'worth' upgrading.
So I'd like to discuss this. How do
you calculate 'worth'?
If it's the cost involved, this generally
accumulates for each version, so when you eventually *must* upgrade, the
cost may be higher than the
Hi Lee!
Nope, not in MapInfo today.
Best you can do is to use zoom visibility,
so that the symbol layer turns off at a certain scale.
A way of simulating symbol scaling is
to add the same layer twice to the mapper, and use two sizes of symbols
and then let the instance with smaller symbols
You need to separate the criteria in the WHERE clause
Select * from table1, table2 WHERE table1.obj within table2.obj and table1.id =
[some value here] and table2.id = [some value here]
