following certainly helps when I am printing transparent rasters (MI 7.0 a HP
650C plotter):
Go to File>Print
and select the plotter
In the bottom right
hand side of dialogue box y
Has anyone had difficulty plotting large format layouts with
raster translucency in MapInfo 8.5? Printing the same workspace from MapInfo
8.0 on our HP DesignJet 4500 PS works perfectly – perhaps it has
something to do with the new image processing options?

I had an issue printing transparent fills (hatching) to hp488 in version 6.5 - they
would print out as black fill. It was resolved (for me anyway) using the output
settings recommended by Mapinfo in the printing paper, and am using v7.5.

As long as you have the plotter drivers installed, and the plotter set
up as a printer in windows, you should be able to just print to it like
any other printer. I believe MI uses the HPGL2. I've used this plooter

The plotter I am using is an HP DesignJet 1055cm plus.
Any clues on what this error might be and how I can resolve it.

1)check that your spool space is large enough.
when you print, windows spools the file to a hidden folder on your PC, to
find it, go Windows Start>settings>>printers and under teh FILE menu ,
click on 'server properties', then click on advanced. Its normally held some

Originally the map would come out blank, but since then on an early MI-L
posting it was mentioned that I hit the Advanced Command Button on the
ogram like Photoshop.

Hi, All,
I'm sure some of you have run into this problem before. We are using Mapinfo 6.0 with
the patch and a 160MB tif topo over the other layers. Map prints fine wihout the topo
(as long as we rastorize on the harddrive) but spools for 40 minutes then "finishes"
with no errors leaving a 33 kb
