Have you tried the universal translator instead of the import function.
It usually works for me.

I have been trying to import a "dxf" file into
MapInfo, but after displaying some warning messages
about no existing "tables" and "block" sections in the
file, MapInfo finally shows a box with the message:
"DXF Error: file does not contain an
entities section. File is invalid. No objects will

I have several AutoCAD 2000 drawings that I am importing into MapInfo 6.5
which have nearly 100 layers each. Is there a way to update a column for
each object with the name of the AutoCAD layer it was on?

Our technical drawing department produced a set of outlines of housing
estates in AutoCad DWG format, and I cannot get them to work in MapInfo.
I used the Universal Translator to convert to TAB format, and converted the

I import regularly dxf files..Usually I use MI Universal translator.
The problem is that I have 156 dxf files..I used the translator did them
one by one.
The result ( close to 39,000 files) Ok I openned them..Used the multi
append.
Everything works.
But right now i'm just importing
