Does anyone know what version of ATRAC Sharp 702 uses, and how it's sound
quality (recording and playback) compare to later Sharp models and CD sound.
Also what kind of bataries does it use, and does it have a coaxial digital
input?

The MO material of the audio and data MDs are the same, but the disc shells

It does digital out? wow

But the answer is daft: no. For some reason, Sony decided to make the

Portables are too small for a coax connection, that is one reason they
use optical.
Why not find this yourself?
Me, as I've never visited the sharp site attempted www.sharp.com,
I've recently had two discs (one black Sony, another coloured TDK) which
have failed. The TDK is slow reading, and when it does finally play back
skips like a scratched CD and the Sony just says "Disc Error" when I insert
it. The TDK was pretty old and had been knocked around a bit, so I guess

Are you sure?
Once upon a time, there was a company called P..s producing a digital portable
with an analog
line in and a digital coaxial _and_ optical input, all together in one 3.5mm
After much debate, I broke down and ordered the PCLK-MD1 and a MDS-JE530 today. I

2) Is there a

I have one of the legendary "problem MDS-302"s.
It works fine with prerecorded discs but not at all with MO-discs.
I tried it upside down but then it doesnt work at all. I'm used

They are technically illegal in the US, but I haven't heard of any cases on the
