I'm looking for a cheap solution for a cd player deck or portable that
_WILL_ play cd-rw and cd-r that has a optical output as well. I want to buy
one at a local consumer store (best buy, circut city, good guys, etc).
Thanks.

The Sony MZR55 or something liek that seems to do
it all.
My main concern ( apart from good sound), is ease
of use for stealth-recording at concerts.
Any opinions and experience would be much

I may be wrong, but Sharp doesn't really strike me as a half-arsed company
with no money to spend on product development...
My 702 was cheap, looks good and works very well. Sony stuff is nice, but
they have some wobbly foibles too.

Christopher I really appreciate those calculations you made-they sound

The original file: www.ozemail.com.au/~atrac/LoHorn.wav
The same file recorded on a 722: www.ozemail.com.au/~atrac/Horn722.wav
I downloaded both files, and played them in Winamp... The

So what? It still sucks big-time. I've never seen a DVD player for a PC

Hya All,
Hmm, sounds familiar ;). I dropped my Sharp 722 on the Computing Lab
floor on Tuesday, ever since it's made clickling noises while
returning back to home Any fixes would be apreciated ;).

I don't know how you watch your DVD's but I watch thru S-Video and it LOOKS
SUPURB. Maybe some of you don't have the ability to do this. Even thru RCA
cables it looks better than regular cable by far. The only thing I would
compare DVD to is Satellite and Laserdisc.
