I just ordered a Sharp MD722 from Mercata.com. Although there is a tax
column in the invoice that was sent to me, the tax amount was listed as
0.00. New Mexico does have a sales tax, but, like every online merchant that
I have purchased from, no tax was charged.

Hi Martin, Of course horse power really doesn't

Don't you remember that commercial for a small inexpensive car? I can't
remember which car it was but they say "We test our car against a blah blah
and we blew their doors off". Then
Okay... I've discovered a fairly significant "bug" on the R900, but it is a
beneficial "bug" I need other owners to verify this with me.
If you own an R900 **and** an MD deck WITH AN OPTICAL OUTPUT (ie, can
attempt to make MD to MD digital copies), I need you to send me an email.
I think some
Bruce asked several questions, of which I'll tackle three,

Not yet, and IMO not likely. If you have
4. Where is the cheapest source for BULK blank mini-disks?

I have an MZR90. I used it to record a concert. While playing back the
concert, at about 3/4 through, the minidisc seems to pause for no reason for
about 5-10 seconds then starts playing again. Is the minidisc defective?
They were sony's so I figured they were good quality, but who knows.
Thanx for your response! I guess there is still LOTS for me to learn about
mini-disks.
Let me tell you how I record music from MP3s to help you understand my next
question. I have a registered version of a wonderful program called Music
Match. Whenever I get a new CD I immediately use Music

Doesn't sound like I will try out the MDLP junk. I would rather see
them come up with some form MP3 decoding built into mini-disk players
as previously stated.
I used to hope for something like that, too. Something like a Diamond Rio,
but using a MiniDisc as its storage medium? That'd kick
Well, I don't have anything against the 80 minute mini-disks, its just that
to me 74 vs. 80 minutes is maybe one more song. I have a system as explained
earlier where I copy my collections onto CD before cutting to mini-disks and
my CD-R doesn't handle 80 minute CD-Rs so it isn't worth buying a
