I've seen a lot of postings here about MP3, ATRAC and MD as
technology. Also I've seen many speculations about why MD hasn't
become popular enough (except probably Japan) despite of its
superiority over CD. As far as I remember SONY tried to make MD a
de-facto standard for digital

Let me start of by saying MD is my favorite media but.
Dataplay is yet another nail in the coffin for MD. Although the atrac
compression has a foreseeable future, the actual media, MD, is dying. For
audio, 74 mins on a MD sized disc is ok, when

I just got a set of Etymotic ER-4S earphones, and I am astounded at the
sound. They are incredible. Some people have said that the 4S's lack
bass and require a headphone amp, but I'm using them with my Sony MZR-90
and they are loud enough for me with excellent bass, and that's not even

great effect of the seal is that it blocks out a lot of exterior noise,
so high volume is not required. I love them for my train ride to work,
I can just loose myself in the music.
I found the same thing with Sony's nude ex buds. When songs are quiet,
they're QUIET, no matter what's going on

I remember way back when there was a discussion on here about whether or not
it was safe/allowed to use Minidisc players in aeroplanes. What's the

With all the talk on the future of MD, the bigger question is why
are companies still making cassette tape? Americans hate any kind
of change, and gonna stick with crap like cassette until it's not
around any more. Lots of people gave up LPs not because CD was
better, but because the

MD players have to have the same shielding as CD Players and laptops and all that.

so that my ear starts to shift with it, the bass improves dramatically.

They are more stylish (YMMV), silver, they don't exert as much pressure as
the KSC-35, and, according to a lot of reports I've seen in Headwize, due to
less pressure on the ears they don't sound the same as the 35s. Less bass.
