I run into that problem quite a bit. I have several cars now that are
probably not worth fixing yet the bodies have no rust. I hate crushing
cars that have no rust with their only problems being bad paint, bad

quite adequate as a jack point. I've used that to position
jackstands under the front end in the past.
Make sure you position the floor jack under the "level" portion and

Are you talking about the 300td? if so, those are a bear. My local
independent shop got the one changed in my 300TD, but it was a major
bear. They bent their tooling, and had to custom build a beefier
version. They said iut was the worst thing they'd ever seen.

Fairly well. But once the rust attacks like you've seen it's
probably got a very good start on the thicker metal that's
behind the facade. Just boxing it in may not be a good idea.

I'll give you 500 for all three of them. It is a sweet engine with lots of
turbo-boosted power and 30+ MPG. A great combination. I drive mine about 500
miles a week-often at 85 mph.
