Maybe it's only the valve guide seals (that keep oil from getting sucked through guides) that need to be replaced. They are much easier and cheaper to fix (no need to pull head but you'll need a valve spring compressor). You use compressed air into spark plug hole to hold the valves closed but it'

I think I knew that once, but I put in Bosch Platinum +4s, so don't need to gap them. The platinum plugs can cause some idle roughness, but work much better otherwise. New plugs will help -- and look for burn marks were the ignition wires go close to metal, indicating that they are shot. The
