I don't have as detailed records as you do for our 90 300D 2.5t. But our
mileage when I have checked it exactly parallels your data-with similar
drving habits. Only once did I get 32, a couple 31 mpg tanks and rest
28-30. One winter tank was 27.x mpg.

There is torque spec for the center bolt -IIRC for the 240D it is 15nm. I
just use that torque for the OM 602 canister as well.

Oh yeah, one other thing. Try not to drive the car in stop and go
traffic until you get this fixed as the stress on the tranny will
cause high heat and ultimate failure. Big bucks.

If you have access to 12V you can pry the switch out of the door panel
apply 12V to the center (IIRC) connection then ground to the 1 of the other
