The HVAC system in my '83 300D was doing weird things, even after
I replaced all the units, pushbutton, temp controller, and fan speed
controller units.
Having had bench experience with the weird things low voltage can cause

the 114/115, as does the early 107 (etc.) 'candy bar'
flasher switch. The smaller red rocker switch does
not contain the flasher.

If your system is anything like a 123, splitting the power supply
might be
worth trying.
They're really quite different, I don't at this time suspect
that kind of power problem, the internal guts of the HVAC
box is powered by an internal 8V regulator. Gotta go down
a lot to get underneath
Make sure they came off without tearing. It's a steal if they fit your
car.

But a 14 head is not a conviction. All of my 603s have or have had
14 heads. My original SDL was the best running of all and had over
400K on the 14 head. The last time this came up, the general
discussion was that if the 14 head survived this long, it would
probably live out its life.

I found two spare console flasher switches in the garage. Swapped one of
them and tested - nothing - dead! The other had the same part number but
was not as deep (tall). That one worked We'll test its reliability in the

I don't know about the W123, but on my W115, the flasher relay is *separate*
from the hazard switch (though if the switch fails, you lose ALL
flashing...).
