When searching for a used engine, I would not receive any response when asking
about verification of mileage which raised flags and, since my engine went
south with good maintenance and w/o warning, who's to say another high mileage

call them. Who cares about mileage at this point on those cars, a compression
test would be much more important and informative

it did add some time to delivery, since neither was a stock option for the US
spec cars, I believe.
When my Dad ordered his 81 380SL, I remember them giving him the choices, but
discouraging him from ordering them.

Oh yeah! There are two troublesome systems in the R129's. The SRS
system is prone to failure and the ECU can cost 1500.00 plus labor.
Can't operate the car if a failure occurs due to the seatbelts
tightening up and air bags, roll bar, etc will be non functioning.
