Dan, I think you gave the drying time answer earlier. Your washer is spinning out more water so the clothes dry faster. I have a low water, supposedly more efficient GE washer which does spin out more water (high speed, extended time spin cycle) and as such my "old" dryer takes less time to dry

Mine's a 70, same engine as the original but with shaft drive instead of belts. Mine cranks over well enough now but is hard to start because of low compression. A little shot of starting fluid and it fires right up but has to idle for a couple minutes before you give it any go or it will stall.
