We've been happy with the 2012 Passat TDI - now that the squirrels aren't eating the wiring anymore (thanks to the pellet gun). the seats are not as comfy as the MBs were, but otherwise it's an OK car - the fuel economy is great. It feels more solid than the smaller VWs, but not as solid as an MB.
