Yes that is true unless I get a line on a cheap paint guy. I figure i could get
it back together and keep as a spare but keep an ad running for 3k or so in
case somebody wants it that bad or the market goes up on them.

It would be a shame to let the car go but even if you put in the work
and the money you wouldn't likely get it back with the paint issues.
What might that go for, $2k, $2500 in decent running condition? If that?
Fix it up for a driver, keep it for a spare if you ever need it?

My point was more that I don't care for the suspension mods but the color and

That's why they sell angle iron, cut off disks, drills and welders - find
pictures or drawings of the Euro hitches, and duplicate one as close as you
can. You might end up over or under engineered, but probably not so under
that it's not safe, nor so over that it's too heavy.

The practical result is that with MIG, you always end up with more metal
than you started with. In some cases, I've been able to weld with
ox-acetylene by just melting the two parts together - no filler needed. I
expect that you could do that with TIG as well. You can't do that with MIG.
On Mon,
I agree - very appropriate improvement on a basically boring no-design boyd
style.

Weight distribution would be a good thing to add, and maybe sway control.
They say weight distribution is required when the trailer weighs more than half
as much as the tow vehicle.

And what is the operational difference between MIG and TIG?
TIG is like an electric ox-acetylene in that the filler is not
part of the heat process. The electrode is not "consumed".
MIG uses the filler for one electrode, so it is consumed.
Technically both use shielding gas,
Look to Euro hitch makers for "real" class 3 hitches for your cars. Probably
have to do the same for a brake controller. The problem is if you get in an

Jaime, The reason that I would like to have a Sanden or a Denso
like on my wifes truck is because I have over the years in
working on cars found that the seals on the R4 hose connections
to be crappy at best. They tend to leak very easily and it
doesn't take much to have them totally blow out.

I've contacted Curt. The reinforcement parts aren't available separately.

They do have a more normal 3500lb hitch for the R class, but I haven't seen
anything over 2500lb sold in USA for 210 or 211

What would you bolt the hitch too? They don't really have a frame like a truck
