I have done one valve adjustment sequence before on a 1981 300CD back in 2006.
Before I adjusted them, they were so far out of adjustment that the car
wouldn’t even start! Afterward, I was able to get it started. I know that this
240D is ready for one!!

Hildegard needs the door regulator mechanism cleaned and lubed before
something breaks - in mine, it was the pot metal center pivot that holds
the inside of the coiled up spring. I made a new one from an old large
bolt, ground down to size and the slot cut with a hack saw and Dremel. That

I was scared of setting valves for years until I actually tried it. Super easy
and it makes a big difference when they're right.
I need to set the valves on the ASV and Pisten Bully. MB content, the PB has an
OM372 (I think that's right). That'll be my first 6cyl...

Was it a sudden and complete loss of refrigerant (and all the oil it was
carrying)? 40 ml plus 10 ml for drier and 10 ml for hose.

Dodge Dakota the transmission got stuck in 1st gear. Angie had to drive it

averaging 31-32 since replacing the thermostat. This little 190 is going to

easiest to find stuff there since they stock so many different parts, but
they're very inexpensive. They ship from France, of all places, arrived in
2 days to me here in NJ.
They also list vbelts... I might order a few optibel
I didn’t say I replaced a front seal, I said you should replace the front seal
if you’re going to reseal the box. As for the construction of such things in a
Mercedes I have no experience, I was making a general comment.
