It's a first year W220. Hence forth known as a BOAT. Break Out Another
Thousand. The hot air intake tells you all you need to know on how this car was
maintained.

All good thoughts. The LSD in the 560 was running the special factory LSD
sauce when it died. No guarantee it had that all of its life.
The wagon ran whatever mercedes recommended for the 120k before I swapped
it out. It had about 80k on it when I bought it and was a two owner car I

Ordered a Home Despot garage storage unit with a couple of upright cabinets and
a workbench with upper and lower cabinets. Two big honking tall boxes on skids.
Paid $55 extra for threshold delivery so they would put them inside the garage.

Agreed for the most part. Both my 95 and 94 were pretty bulletproof during my
ownership.
Despite approaching 300k, the former Tarekmobile was just starting to get a
leaky evaporator. I had to rebuild the lower engine harnesss on it but that
wasn’t bad. The 94 S420 was a low mile cream puff,
While the 96 and later might be bullet proof in some regards, in others they
started cheapening them in the later years. With that said I have not had any
issues with the 92-95 cars. This car is way overpriced.

So I placed a $1,400 lumber order today with Lowes, to be delivered to my house.
An hour or so later I realized I needed to add a few more 2x8 boards.
There is no way to change or add items to an order that's already been placed
for delivery. The only option is to reschedule the delivery

I had that happen on the 190D. A few strokes with a file cured that.

Poor tolerances on manufacture, I believe.)

If you go with a facelift W140 (1996 and later) they are pretty bulletproof and
have no issues of significance.
Avoid 1995 and earlier. Not bad cars, but there are a number of major and
expensive issues you might have to deal with.

Low oil pressure at idle (and eventually at higher RPMs) is one way to know
that bearings are worn out. Unfortunately it appears that these newer cars no
longer include any kind of oil pressure monitor.

Maybe I shared this already but I had a new 88 chevy stepside with the v6.
Took it crawling right off the lot on a local trail, power line right of
way. Got to the top of a ridge. Noticed oil pressure gauge bouncing. Looked
outside and oil was pouring off the corner of the front air dam. Shut her

A magic potion poured into the radiator typically will not fix a head gasket
leak, any more than "leak stop" in air conditioning refrigerant will fix a
leaking seal or evaporator. Or if it does it's not for long. And if it actually
does plug it up, what else is it going to plug up?
I suppose
That sucks. The 210 cars are among the most reliable, if mundane cars Mercedes
ever built.
Perhaps you got an extremely poorly maintained example.
I'd sell to the Minnesota guy and hang on to the money. I'd buy another S210
