I liked the thing for what it did while it was connected to the car, lots of functions.  If it had a wifi connection while connected it will send the reports from scans.  It also has a USB power cable so it can be plugged in that way, and supposedly send the reports then when it is powered up i

Much easier to use, far less hassle not dealing with power, cables, a laptop, etc., etc. Makes it super easy to scan a car and look at the codes, you just plug it in to the OBDII port, turn on the key, it scans the vehicle for it’s VIN and gives you a choice of running a quick test or going into
