Craig,
The newsletter is not online, but comes from: http://www.waysidewaifs.org
They will probably send you a copy if you call. It might have been a cat, not a
dog, hard to remember now.
Speaking of cats. This was on front page of yahoo this morning - cat at a

There was a story in the morning paper about the killer cat at the
old folks home. She has lived there since a kitten and now is the
harbinger of death. Goes on rounds and then decides to sit with
those who are going to kick the bucket. Better at predicting death
than the medicos, so
How funny that your dog does this too! Joel doesn't do this in the 300SD.
Perhaps the angle is different due to the height of the armrest above the
seat. I guess I'll have to buy another W123 to compare.:-)

Sammy is not so crazy about car rides and has to be consigned to the back with

You mean you have a GSD that doesn't whine and obsessively surge

Since he belongs to Kevin, I'd say that's it.
Now you know why Kevin had more than the usual trouble

Hi, Chris.
Joel is a seeing eye dog, or Guide Dog since he came from Guide Dogs for
the Blind. I've also heard of many dogs that seem to have a natural ability
to detect low blood sugar in their owners. Some dogs can tune in to their
owner's needs before the owner even realizes it. For
Interesting about the footwell. She has always liked it there, but she is on
the small side (about 65 pounds). Sammy is 95-100 and the footwell is a no go.
I am endlessly amazed by what dogs can be trained to do...and working dogs in
general. We got our 2 GSDs after being robbed of everything

I use to take my golden all over in my old porsche 911. The rear seats flip
down, so once she was in, she could get quite comfortable. She was a large
girl too at 120 lbs. The car would average 21 mph on the highway and she
would manage about 120 miles per pigs ear. :-) We tried the front seat

That's exactly how our German Shepherd rides in our W123! She loves it.
