Here in midtown Toronto I just filled up at 102.9 for Sunoco Gold
diesel. Their regular diesel, which is still decent fuel...MUCH better
than Petro Canada or Esso's crap, is 99.8 which is up a couple of cents
from a couple of weeks ago.

I'd buy BioD exclusively, even at a higher cost, if I didn't have to drive
20-25 miles off of my commute (97mi each way) to get the stuff, especially
when there's a diesel pump ~50 feet off of my commute... (I'd put up with
2-3 miles out of the way, but I pass at least 3 fuel stations with

There is a bid difference between record profits and profit MARGINS.
The profits can be record but the margins stay the same.

Alcohol and diesel is NOT usually a good combination when the
concentration gets above about 0.5-1% (as is sometimes done to sequester

More BioD or Ethanol production will not lower prices. The powers that be know
that the market can handle the price it's currently at, they're money hungry,

Delayed effect from Rita? Word came in today that a lot of drilling
rigs in the Gulf are damaged or missing entirely. I imagine the news
was quickly followed by a rise in the price of oil.
Here in Mexico we are paying $2.27 US$ per US gallon for 87 octane.

Here in Upstate NY (Delhi), gas has finally come down to $3.15/gallon from
a high of around $3.40. The next town over is down to about $2.87, and that
is where we try to buy it. Amazing how 20 miles of distance between the same
company's gas stations can amount to a difference of almost $.30.
