The gasser pumps are set up differently I think, only diesel pumps are a direct
fit. I suspect a gasser pump could be modified to work, but I haven't explored
that yet.

If they have pics, often the auction photo of the doorframe sticker is included.
That's how I found the donors of the fender and hood on my Green-Black metallic
(Black Opal) ML350. I still can't believe I found two W163s that color in SE
Michigan. Both were listed as blue, but I looked at dozens

to order it. Go through five yards, and that gets old quickly.

The valve isn't really fragile, but it won't tolerate abuse, and unlike the 123
valve, the 124/201 valve can't be rebuilt.
If the spheres are totally flat, you apparently need to unhook the linkage and
move the valve to the drain position to drive the car.

Glad to hear it! I had no idea there were such struts. How hard was it to
track down a source?

Max, despite rumors to the contrary, you CAN rebuild the dual pump.
BTDT. Q got kits for me. I'd suggest ordering 2 kits, as the likelihood
of buggering one seal is fairly high, or get one kit, take out the seals
and buy extras at the local bearing house. The inner seal between the 2

I did not know these were so fragile! I have never opened it up. How
complex can it be to rehabilitate the innards?
I am keeping SLS. Sorry that wasn't clear. Would have been far cheaper to
ditch it, but oh well.

Perfect. Just what I needed to know. Thanks. The 500e had little super hard
red ones in there, so I will use them. I rarely bottom out, but it is nice
to have some insurance.

Hi Max. The SLS is going back to stock. I got two of the last 3 sportline
SLS struts out of Germany for it, and sportline springs. So I will be
keeping the SLS valve. I did have to selectively modify the valve mounting
bracket with a 2lb hammer to get a 22mm rear 500e swaybar to fit, but other

Some year I should borrow that diff mount tool.
What Dan said for the strut bumpers. +1

I believe you can swap the snubbers by just removing the nut on the top of the
strut and carefully lowering the control arm enough to get the rod from the
strut out of the mount.
I’ve done it on an R129, which has slightly different suspension.

Max beat me to asking for the 124 SLS control valve.
I think my 2.3-16 ate another one when the spheres dies.

If you are removing the SLS, sell me the dual circuit steering pump and the
control valve.

Swapping a 500e subframe into the 87 wagon is one of the more pointless
things I have done, but the old one is out and I am building up the new
frame, so no going back. Just did it to fit a 210mm diff in for a limited
slip carrier. The whole assembly will all be new stuff, except the pinion
seal -
