Btw, all I could afford at the time was a model 20...
But then it didn't have an issue picking up the front end of a 1/2t RWD 'burb
with a 6.2 in it...
My only complaint is that
The handle is pretty long as-is: http://www.milwaukeejack.com/model20.pdf

Jon,
The Craftsman jacks actually don't have the best reputation. Look at the
reviews. They are prone to leaks.
I would consider a Harbor Freight aluminum 2 or 2.5 ton or a Harbor Freight low
profile steel jack. The Costco Arcan jacks are also considered good.
If you want to splurge you can
I have a 3 ton Crapsman floor jack that was great until about 2-3 years ago
(it's probably 10 years old).
It doesn't leak externally, but it does leak down in a matter of a minute or
two if it's under load. It also takes a lot of effort and pumping to get it to
raise under a load.
I suspect
The cheap Chinese jacks leak because the rubber o rings fail. The high quality
American or European made jacks use leather seals that last much longer. You
get what you pay for. That being said I have a couple of Chinese jacks made by
Larin that I bought about 15 yrs ago at BJs and they aren't
Might just be low on oil.

If you want all that stuff, see what it would cost at Harbor Freight.
Chinese ratchet stands are worth what, $20 a pair?
Chinese lowboy creeper maybe
For what it's worth, my Crapsman jack was not cheap, although it may very well
have been made in China.
That was one of the reasons why I bought it - I wanted a good floor jack that
was substantial.

On the same subject, anything special about the hydraulic fluid these things
use?
I always wondered what I should use if I had to top mine off.

On Feb 14,
I have a craftsman jack I bought some years ago (20?) that was a floor
model missing the handle, I think I paid $20 for it and got a 4' pipe to
use for a handle and had a mexican fence guy who was working next door
weld on a bolt to engage the release for $2, still works great.

We have a crapsman floor jack at work for moving equipment, and it is
a complete POS killer. I don't trust it with anything, and I sure
would never jack up a car with it. It goes up ok, but when you try
to let things down, it just crashes down. When we are moving equip
that needs a jack, I

I have the same, or similar jack and stands - they've been fine for the 10
years or so that I've had them. The creeper was not part of the package I
bought back then.

rebuildable. Get what u pay for.

I asked my sons for a NAPA USA made Lincoln hydraulic jack 20 years
ago. It still remains in very good operating condition. Yes, get
what u pay for.
