Well, got zero satisfaction on that job, but the neighbor's GM
thunder chicken came by today and got juiced. Unfortunately it
was late in the day and not so hot, maybe 75, but the vent temps
did drop to 38 degrees. And the gauge set
You sure the switch is good on the accumulator? That would be my guess

My BiL brought his burbinator by for an AC recharge.
Unfortunately that's not what's wrong with it. Surfing
for an hour or two got me nothing on how it's constructed.
The compressor wouldn't cut in, though the low side pressure
was plenty high and the switch on the accumulator was closed.
