On my '85 300TD, it was spontaneous. Out of the blue it acted like your car;
new primer pump put it right.

Check for a leaking line at the suction side of the lift pump -- this
will show up as excessive bubbling in the clear filter. Not just
fuel surging, but bubbles going through.
If the IP is full of air, it won't run, and cracked rubber under the
factory fabric covering on fuel lines will st

I had the exhaust off to change the center bearing on the driveshaft, no

So why would it just do this all the sudden? It was fine before this

isn't there according to the EPC and Rusty).

My guess would be a leak allowing air into the injection pump, either a rubber
fuel line or the primer pump. Try cycling the primer pump like 50 or 75 times,
if the sound/effort changes, that's your problem, you'll need to crank for
another 30 seconds or so to get her started.

So I go out to start the SD, starts right up. Runs for like 15 second
then quits. I crank it again, it just spins and no firing. New filters
recently (was running fine), I took the clear one off, it had fuel
spurting through the line and the filter is clean. I pumped the primer
several time
