My son just drove from Austin TX to Vancouver WA with an inop alternator
because the adjusting bolt threads (on the smaller diameter part) are
stripped. I see that Rusty's site has the part for ONLY $ 56.75 as opposed
to the list price of $ 113.51.

I don't see why you couldn't do that. Why not weld it to bolt head?

Used? I think I spent about $5 to get something better
in the Frankenheap than loops of twisted 10-gauge electrical
wire. Failing that, weld bolts and heads together instead of
threading something?
