One more reason to own an old Benz. If I stab the brakes to just miss a deer running in front of me I surely don't want the car to decide that I need to brake more. Too bad folks just can't take the time to learn to drive well instead of depending on the car to make up for their shortcomings.

The core of Android is just a stripped down/customized Linux. It should be reasonably stable. I would guess that any robot cars would have a failure behavior of fall back to manual control which admittedly might not work out too well depending on how closely the human driver is paying
