Hi again, I have updated my website with pieces of
the SAU 130 meteorite. This one was found in January 2004, and is likely paired
with SAU 008.
It is a shergottite, very nice. I bought the 116
gram individual and sold it to a private collector, I kept one slice and cut it
up yesterday.
Hi, Tom:
Take a look at the Kuiper Belt Home Page. The formation and dynamics of the
trans-Neptunian region are still poorly understood, but this page will give you an
idea of what's being studied.

Thanks, everyone, for their inputs on the effects of heating tektites.
My reason for posing the question was that a friend told me about a
mineral dealer (in Ventura County, CA, I believe) who was selling
heat-treated tektites in a variety of unusual colors. I told my

Hi,
this month's MAPS has an interesting article (not too technical for a

Reading about Onaping I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not there

Hello. My wife collects glass insulators, the kind that sit on old
telephone and telegraph poles. Most of the insulators started out as clear
glass. Over the years many of them, due to ultraviolet radiation exposure
have turned to colors including green, blue, yellow, purple etc.

I thought you put this issue to rest. I see now that you only want to increase traffic
to your web site. So be it, but keep my name out of it. I'm not the only person on the

Hi folks,
I just posted a couple interesting specimens on ebay. Included are Luotolax, Julesburg, Rio Limay, Brandon, Alamogordo, and Beardsley among others. Remember that recent postings highlighted Beardsleys role in the age dating of the earth.
There you go Mark. A fine endorsement of your point of view, even though he doesn't
really understand your point of view. Correct me accordingly.

Hi Rob,
One other thought on this is, the tektite may be mixed with other glass and colors to
produce the result somehow but I agree with you that it sounds a bit funny. Until
someone sees, asks questions and so forth it would be difficult to know for sure.

David New is a real old-time minerals dealer. I remember buying some stuff
from him
He was by far the best collectors, collector. Not in it only for money, that
why he quit selling because of the greed.
He was competing with his costumers who were selling on the internet, he
