the problem can be addressed. If we get into a witch hunt now, it may
defeat the desired end result.

The holes and the sort of light gray coloring in patches reminds me of
clinker, melted stuff from around furnaces. Those are not just
indentations, they are holes and round ones like gas has pushed through.
Just doesn't seem that solid.
Who is the guy in the background?
A lot of mail is being sent from [EMAIL PROTECTED] I suspect you have

The only one I have is : turn the auto-preview off if you use Outlook.
There are, believe it or not, viruses out there that can infect you when

If you walk around the dealers in Hong Kong (a special administrative

It's not in the same place in Namibia, it came from further South I
believe. Haven't been there for a while.
My piece looks like the crust has dried and cracked. Almost like mud
dries on the outside. I haven't sliced it though. But this is the only
one I have seen like this.

Basically it's the formation of glass from heat and pressure. A
meteorite hits the earth, and the force melts the sand (silicate) to
sand. The same thing happens with atomic bombs.

They throw a lot of words and non relevant history around. I come from

There is a dealer in Pretoria, someone on the list has dealt with him I
know, who has a lot of them. He sells them at mineral shows, sort of
scratch patch type thing. Try him - I bought a bunch at R10 (about
$1-50) each for little ones like you want.
I think that Matteo means the financial losses made by people are
private. The scam itself is very public, and no one would disagree. Such
forums as ours are the most effective way to do it, but not everyone
will want to make public that they were taken in. On the other hand, the

One thing that strikes me in this story is : if your kid comes and tells

Meteorite Collectors do it with their rocks dude.
A place to fall. Besides striking down the occasional mother in law at a
crucial moment (this is more of a job for Thor), I would have loved
something to fall in the days when meteorites were not thought to come from

I read today that the Silkote Alin fall had pieces of what were essentially
shrapnel, from the iron that fell.
On the weekend I bought a few pieces of Gibeon, from a guy who had been in
Namibia (I'm in SA so it's close). These are bits straight out of the
