We must be near the same age, because I remember the show in the same way.
My dad used to watch shows like these with me and tell me who had been big
stars in the 1920s and 1930s in movies. I really liked Charles Farrell's
voice and manner, and it was hard to imagine him as a young dashing

You are dead on in some respects. 25 years ago, Bette Davis items sold for
ten times what Joan Crawford items did. Why? There was a lot of talk about
how she was a bigger star, but what it really came down to was that the
handful of top Davis collectors who set the prices had a lot greater

Oh, no. I loved Gale Storm in My Little Margie and just acquired a
beautiful portrait lobby card of her with Roy Rogers. I had thought
about keeping it and now I am. I met her at one of the very first
memorabilia shows I attended and she was as gracious as ever. FRANC

My advice is not to put stuff on Ebay in the summer months, since sales
really drop off in July and August. The auction format is not doing as
well as it did in the days when mmultiple bidders drove up the price of
posters and lobbies. The fixed price format is probably the way to go,
unless you

The Title Card from the Road Show set is awful. It's the worst card in
the set and just features the title of the film, no graphic at all. I
wouldn't pay more than $100 for it. FRANC

Hi, Mopoers:
I've been reading the tributes to Sam Rubin and am truly sorry I never got a
chance to know him. Seems like he was a pioneer and an important mainstay of
the hobby, especially in the early days.
Things, of course, have changed a lot since the arrival of the Internet. I know
