I was a fan of Rickman ever since his breakthrough role in "Die Hard". He was
superb in a little-seen film called "Truly, Madly, Deeply"...hell, he was great
in everything he appeared in. There are certain actors who elevate even a
crappy movie at least to watchability; Rickman was one of those
Sad news - Alan Rickman has died - the best Bond villain never used.
Immortal line "I'm off to find a pub!" - Galaxy Quest.
Sad news indeed.

I adored Alan Rickman and had the opportunity to see him on Broadway. He was
amazing. I also heard he was a terrific person.
Too many greats leaving so soon.

Phew, now a wild axe man has expressed a liking for Truly Madly Deeply, I
guess I can own up to liking it as well. Haunting is the word I think. I
was fearing maybe it caught me off guard at a "soft" moment when it first
showed on TV. It was a BBC film, so hopefully they'll show it again
I don't usually comment on the loss of a famous actor or person. But Rickman
was brilliant. His role in "Die Hard" was magnificent. What a tragic loss.

Lemmy from Motorhead, then Bowie and now Alan Rickman, all gone too soon
(OK perhaps Lemmy not quite so out of the blue). With that and Jerry Hall
set to marry Rupert Murdoch, it makes me feel the world has gone a little bit
mad. Yes Alan Rickman helped make Galaxy Quest much much funnier
